Ekoliumenas – Specialized PrestaShop Implementation for the Lighting Industry

Ekoliumenas is a unique PrestaShop implementation explicitly built for the lighting industry, where purchases are infrequent but high in value and decision-making complexity. The site features a quick-to-checkout flow optimized for guest users, acknowledging that most buyers are one-time or occasional customers purchasing lighting for specific spaces or projects.

To support inspiration-based purchasing, we developed a custom blog system that showcases completed industrial and architectural lighting projects. Each blog post highlights the real products used in that setting—allowing users to explore the space and purchase the exact lighting fixtures featured in the design.

On the product side, we implemented advanced functionality to support the industry’s documentation needs. Users can download certificates, installation instructions, measurement diagrams, and technical specifications directly from the product page—ensuring clarity and compliance for architects, designers, and facility managers.

The filtering system includes a non-standard slider-based filter interface for numeric product attributes like wattage, dimensions, or light output. This improves the search experience for technical buyers who prefer to explore ranges rather than fixed options.

To handle the large volume of SKUs and technical data, we applied PrestaShop performance optimizations focused on caching, query efficiency, and load balancing—making it possible to maintain high speed across thousands of complex product entries.

Finally, the platform is powered by our PrestaRock advanced import module, which connects the store to over 10 lighting suppliers. This integration automates product imports, pricing, availability, and technical data—making catalog management efficient and accurate without compromising performance.
